1,000 Miles Photos

One of the challenges that I had before I decided to proceed with this plan of raising fund for next year's world youth day is how will I make my first sale. With God's grace, it wasn't that hard and I didn't exert too much effort in initiating the first offer to sell dakki.
Raising fund is just one of the few preparation I need to make in joining the World Youth Day 2011. Health and spiritual preparation are the two things that I am focusing more. Thanks to the people around me especially at Edsa Shrine who always feed my spirituality.

Don't fall on me

11/09/2010

Yesterday, I created this special blog intended for my spiritual journey. I left the office late for this. I was anxious. I know I don't have to worry about monetary needs for next year's World Youth Day. Then it popped on my mind that when I get there, I need to converse with Spanish speaking nationals.

I searched the internet for Instituto Cervantes (a known learning institute for Spanish language). I called them up to inquire about the rate of beginner's course. The operator greeted me Buenas Dias. I was like, "say what?". I was stunned and didn't know what to reply to her. I didn't know if I'll speak Filipino or English. Good thing she conversed with me in English. The amount of the beginner's course is around Php 4,900 (USD 120) including the Spanish textbook. Woah! The amount isn't bad but isn't good also. I will have to adjust some expenses. If I will be taking some short courses, the money should come from my salary and not from the fund I'm raising for this journey. Anyway, learning Spanish language will possibly prepare me to be multilingual. A desire I once planned when I saw the ad for a company looking for Spanish speaking reps few years back.

I left the office with a few energy in my body. I need to attend the 12:15pm mass at the Sacred Heart. My eyes were falling most of the time and nearly fainted. My body needs to rest. I remember one what the priest told me one time, that there are a lot of trouble you'll be facing to get to the church, to get to the house of the Lord. I felt it that day. There are so many hindrances. Anxiety attacks me first then my body.

I was weak because I let my body be exhausted that morning. And now, while I write this blog, I keep on moaning so I need to rest and put the dot in this sentence.

Let's talk first

This afternoon, I spoke with the Lord when I visited the National Shrine of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in San Antonio Village, Makati. This church is about 5-minute-walk from where I currently live. I asked for clear direction and spiritual guidance to prepare myself for another journey. My heart desires to join the Pope and fellow young people in celebrating the World Youth Day next year. Fr. Vic Apacible emphasized that we are people who long to see him. Which is also the responsorial psalm that day.
This is a challenge for me. I ask each moment if I truly desire this. And if so, I should truly desire to be worthy of overcoming the challenges that awaits. A gateway towards having a deeper Christian life and deeper relationship with God.

Few days ago, I felt some signs of living a christian way and not being part of the society. I felt the need to unlearn things. Some of the things that created me and made me smart. These things that made me unhappy and unsatisfied.

As you read this blog, please include me in your prayers that I may truly live the Christian way that will give me ease in this world.
